Stumm is a cosy tourist resort in Austria’s Zillertal Valley, with breathtaking landscapes that are appreciated by locals and visitors alike. It is said to be one of the prettiest villages in the state of Tirol, with the houses clustered around an old church, a fountain and Stumm Castle – forming the perfect backdrop for cultural events.
A healthy and vibrant school
Stumm primary school is one of the most modern schools in the whole of Tirol. It’s a healthy and vibrant educational establishment. In the 2018/2019 academic year, 89 pupils organised into six classes are being taught by ten members of staff. Three of these classes are integration classes. The school places an emphasis on physical activity as part of the curriculum and promotes healthy eating habits. Pupils receive individual support in open learning classes, learning to trust in their own abilities and develop them further. Communal meal breaks, in which pupils are taught the value of a healthy diet, also form part of the school’s philosophy. With arts & crafts sessions, outings to nearby forests and ski trips, Stumm primary school is an exciting and vibrant environment.
Pleasant surroundings are beneficial to learning
Creating a pleasant learning environment was the goal behind the complete renovation of the school in 2017, together with the installation of modern technical systems. All 27 rooms were furnished in cheerful colour schemes and equipped with attractive furniture that is ideally suited to children’s needs. Whether they’re in the spacious computer room or cosy library with reading corner – the kids now feel totally at home in every part of the school.
DISANO by HARO for a healthy climate in the classrooms
Asked to recommend a floor covering, Mayrhofen-based installer Michael Mair opted for DISANO by HARO. This luxurious design floor, manufactured by Hamberger Flooring in Rosenheim, is completely free from plasticisers and PVC. It has also been awarded the “Blue Angel” and “eco” quality labels. These are decisive criteria when choosing the flooring for classrooms in which children will be spending many hours a day. The SilentSense surface and an additional ElastoTec layer ensure elasticity and a warm feeling underfoot. Kids using the floor to work on their drawings are now a common sight in open learning classes.
In the school’s bustling rooms, the design floor from HARO provides protection against dents and moisture while ensuring stability of form. Appropriately enough, taking care of the floor is “child’s play” as well. Thanks to the dirt-repelling surface, floors are quick and easy to clean.
Stumm primary school is a place with an unmistakable feel-good factor – its attractive surroundings and pleasant learning atmosphere make going to school an enjoyable experience for the pupils!
