Munich is a particularly attractive city, and not just for high-ranking professionals.
Fans of hiking and of the Bavarian lifestyle also frequently choose the metropolis
of the Isar as their city of choice. As such, living space in Munich is sought-after
and, therefore, finite. With the residential area “Living Isar”, a stylish “city within
a city” has been created on the previous Osram site in the Untergiesing suburb.
In addition to around 450 apartments, it also offers everything that characterises
a residential area with a high quality of life.

As property developer, the REAL Estate Group has built a settlement here that takes every aspect
of modern and urban living into account. Among the neat buildings, in addition to the more than
450 apartments (of which 98 are subsidised), there are also two nurseries, a café, modern office
spaces and two spacious underground car parks. Of course, the scope of construction also includes
adequate green areas with playgrounds for the little residents and green recreation areas nearby
for the owners and tenants of the new apartments. Architects Ortner + Ortner contributed to the
design, while the green planning came from landscape architects Topotek 1, both based in Berlin.
The grounds have a completely carfee layout, but can be traversed quickly and easily on foot or
by bike. The construction adheres to the environmentally-friendly KfW 55 standard, meaning the
buildings are heated via district heating. The climate-friendly construction methods also include
green roofs, which help to reduce CO2 in Munich’s inner city.
The majority of the more than 450 apartments, which have an impressive total area of around
20,000 square meters, have been equipped with HARO parquet flooring. Before that, the future
Living Isar residents had the opportunity to choose different parquet types from both the HARO
two-layer and three-layer parquet ranges in the Maxim and Plank 1-Strip formats. By equipping
the apartments with HARO parquet floors, the REAL Estate Group has set a special example for
healthy, stylish and sustainable living.
