Two trend-setting construction concepts have been transformed into one marquee unit

A model property was created in Wolfurt, Austria, which thanks to two completely different construction concepts, now serves as a showcase of modern living. A tasteful HARO Strip Parquet also plays an important role here.

Builder

Wohnbauselbsthilfe in Bregenz, for the community of Wolfurt

  • Many fans of architecture cast a jealous glance at our Austrian neighbours every now and then. In the Alpine republic, architects, developers and the responsible authorities consistently understand how to stage fantastic construction projects, which in turn serve as trendsetters for stylish living culture.

In Wolfurt, the Wohnbauselbsthilfe residential building authority acted as the developer and created two units, which could not me be more different in terms of their structure. One part of the building was built as a wooden construction according to the latest findings on the topic of energy. The second part of the building complex was created using the classic massive house construction method. The fascinating aspect is the fact that the entire ensemble has the optical appearance of being built as one single piece, even though it was constructed using different methods. The construction project led to the establishment of 33 apartments, with living spaces ranging from 54 to 89 square metres, in addition to a generous common area. One of the project goals that was actively pursued by both the architects as well as the developers was a direct concept comparison between wooden and massive construction of blocks of flats from an energetic and economic perspective.

The generously designed flats impress both their owners and tenants, thanks to the layouts and rooms featuring a light and friendly design. The floors are also presented as a particularly elegant detail. To this end, the architects selected the high-quality HARO Strip Parquet type called “Allegro Oak Object Tundra”. This parquet floor not only captivates with its valuable look and feel, which can only be offered by a two-layer parquet. The Oak Tundra is also extremely vibrant and abounds with naturalness. In addition, residents can rejoice in having a healthy-living, natural wooden floor, which will provide light-hearted living pleasure for several years to come.
