Hotels frequently have fascinating stories to tell. Hotels like the tradition-filled Davos hotel Edelweiss that served as a sanatorium for many decades in its previous life. Since 1996, however, it has been a member of upscale hotel community in the elegant Swiss resort of Davos – and is loved equally by tourists, athletes and business travellers.

The foundation walls of the structure that now houses Hotel Edelweiss in the heart of Davos have stood for well more than a century. The Art Nouveau elements still strike the eye, turning this hotel into one of Davos’ most special lodgings. For decades, the building served as a sanatorium, the result of the demonstrably healthful air that tourists had always enjoyed in Davos. Later, it was led by Benedictine nuns, who added a chapel to it. Today, you can feel and occasionally see the structure’s vivid history in every nook and cranny. After being transformed into a hotel, the building was modernised from the ground up. Today, it fulfils every requirement that an upscale hotel is expected to meet. The 35 rooms are tastefully designed and furnished. No two rooms look alike. The hotel also spoils its guests with its exquisite cuisine, spa area and exhilarating flower garden.
All rooms in the hotel were upgraded and redesigned as part of the last renovation project. HARO was asked to provide one of the most elegant furnishing details in each of the individually designed rooms: HARO Parquet Plank 1-strip Oak Sauvage brushed. The flooring perfectly reflects the charm of the hotel in each room and exudes the typical feeling of Swiss comfort that guests and tourists in the Alpine republic love so much. Ambül Schreinerei, the highly respected HARO partner in Davos, laid nearly 450 square metres of the parquet flooring and naturally supplied the appropriate original accessories, including all necessary care utensils. As a result, HARO is helping to write the next exciting chapter of the hotel’s enthralling history.
