Demand for housing in the flourishing downtown areas of German cities is rising rapidly. A clear trend towards smaller residential units has taken shape as well. Demographics are one reason for this trend. Another is the fundamental changes that have occurred in the lifestyles of modern urban residents. As a rule, apartments in the city are smaller, but the quality of their appointments is better as well. The MaryAnn apartment house that will be completed next year in the heart of Dresden’s Old City will be a model of contemporary urban lifestyles. This exquisite property will offer single-room, two-room and three-room apartments. All will have large window fronts and will be equipped with state-of-the-art kitchen technology and elegant bathrooms. Added to this will be smoothed wall design, recessed spotlights and app-controlled blinds for windows that extend all the way to floor. Each apartment also comes with a chic open-air area, which can be a balcony, terrace or loggia, depending on the size of the apartment itself. The centrepiece of the apartments’ appointments is the flooring. The designers of the MaryAnn selected HARO as the supplier for the flooring in all apartments.
The exquisite strip parquet Allegro 4000 Oak Tundra is being laid – it is a truly world-class parquet floor that stands for durability, natural character and complete healthy living. The eye-catching two-layer parquet floor perfectly harmonises with the underfloor heating system that will keep the apartments toasty warm. The project poses a real challenge for the HARO partner Jens Wagenknecht: More than 9,000 square metres of the exclusive HARO parquet must be laid in the 191-apartment building.
